Walnut Training Systems Workshop

Directions: From Highway 65 in Wheatland, turn east on 4th Street. Take 4th street to Nichols Road and turn left (note UCCE sign). At the end of Nichols Road, turn right taking the first driveway to the left (note UCCE sign). Drive straight in through gate to meeting location.

We will discuss various walnut training systems, and see 2 and 3 year old Durham trees and 3 year old Solano trees, the two newest variety releases.

From here, we’ll caravan to:

Walnut (6 year old) No Pruning (no heading)/Variation of No Pruning Grower Comparison Field Meeting at Bear River Walnut Ranch (2031 Spenceville Road, Wheatland, CA 95692)

Directions: From Nichols Road, go left on Olive Street to Spenceville Road as you leave town. First ranch on the right (there is a double green gate).
