Grape, Nut & Tree Fruit Expo

The Grape, Nut & Tree Fruit Expo is held every year at the BIG Fresno Fairgrounds. Fresno California is the heart of grape, nut and tree fruit country. The expo is produced in cooperation with the Central Valley wine, table, and raisin grape, tree fruit and nut industries.  There are thousands of grape, tree fruit, nut growers and PCAs in this area.

This is the one stop shop for Growers and PCAs to gather to learn about the status of the industry, earn PCA & CCA Continuing Education credits, and visit with exhibiting industry partners.

State of the Almond Pistachio, Pecan and Walnut industry seminars will feature the Almond Alliance of California, American Pistachio Growers, the California Pecan Growers Association, and a special walnut industry panel this year (featuring Jerry Moore of Venice Hill Walnut Nursery, Sam Sciacca of Moody Walnut Dehydrator, and Mike Poindexter of Poindexter Nut Company).  Also special to this year’s program will be an almond industry “Handler Views” panel discussion, featuring Brian Ezell of the Wonderful Company, Craig Duerr of Campos Brothers Farms, and Ron Fisher of Fisher Nut Company.

The Fresno County Department of Ag will be providing an hour Laws & Regs presentation and the USDA Farm Service Agency will be present and assist growers in applying for trade mitigation funding and other new programs growers may be eligible for.  UC Cooperative Extension Entomology Advisors will share the latest in plant, stink bug and navel orangeworm management.  Other experts will be addressing weed management, young orchard irrigation/fertilization and pistachio chill accumulation.

This event, along with other Malcolm Media • Ag Expos have generated over $150,000 in scholarship endowments for Ag programs at Cal Poly, SLO, Fresno State, Santa Rosa Junior College, and UC Davis.
