EPA Proposed Label Language for Endangered Species Act Compliance (Pacific Northwest Webinar)
January 20 @ 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

EPA’s Endangered Species Act (ESA) Work Plan Update outlines EPA’s broad strategies to address the challenge of meeting its obligations under the Endangered Species Act during pesticide registration review. It describes the Agency’s efforts to reduce pesticide exposure to non-target organisms, including listed species, during the registration review process and through other actions. These measures can include mitigations designed specifically to address ecological risk.
Oregon State University is seeking feedback from growers on the relevance and feasibility of these mitigations to agricultural production in the Pacific Northwest. All pesticide users and affiliated persons from Oregon, Washington and Idaho are asked to respond. Your survey answers will be used to submit formal comments to EPA about the feasibility of their mitigations and suggest other mitigations identified by stakeholders. All information is anonymous and will only be shared with outside agencies in aggregate. Without industry input, a potential risk is the implementation of label mitigations that are incompatible with PNW practices.
To familiarize pesticide users and assess feasibility of the mitigations for the Pacific Northwest, OSU will host an informational webinar.
