Many new acres of hazelnut trees are being planted in the Pacific Northwest, and growers may be wondering whether they should protect these young trees by painting the trunks or using trunk guards. Oregon State University Extension is currently conducting some research on the topic, as shared back at the Nut Growers Society Summer Tour.
